One area that I didn't see myself collecting much of is RPPCs or Real Photo Postcards. You can read more about RPPCs here but basically they are printed photographs on special postcard paper and are a very popular category with postcard collectors. Some are collecting historical photographs of certain areas of the country or subjects like train depots or photos of interesting people. I couldn't see myself collecting photos of people I didn't know (but hold that thought because I'm starting to see the appeal), but you know what I do love? Cats.

Look a these. Real photos of cats. Some of the photos were then used to make postcards and those are fun too but these are the real deal. The cat on the left was my first one and the fun things about these cards as they were both sent to boys "Master So and So." So I guess I do collect RPPCs and I'm sure people and locations probably aren't far behind.
