Let's start with my current icon (as of March 2026) which is this lovely lady reading.

I have to keep reminding myself that the point of posting here is not for the scholarly research but for my own learning process as I dive into this new hobby and as a place to keep my personal haphazard "research" which is for my enjoyment. That's good because I keep running into incomplete or non-existent information when I try to look up basic things about postcards. I am used to having all the information I could ever want at my finger tips and I'm used to being a know-it-all so this gap in knowledge is a new experience.

Artist signed postcards are a particularly collectible area of early postcards. This card was illustrated by Italian artist Adolfo Busi (1891-1977). His career in art included painting, graphic design, advertising, postcards, posters and book illustrations.
